Gilbert Torres Valverde, 85 of Houston, Texas was called Home by our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on May 5, 2021. He was born in Houston, Texas on January 13, 1936 to Miguel and Guadalupe Valverde. He was married to Marie Valverde for 63 years and had two daughters and two sons. Gilbert proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1953 to 1956.
Gilbert worked as a welder for Continental EMSCO. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and had a passion for traveling with his wife, friends, and family. He loved spending his days showering his boundless love upon all of his grandchildren like no other. He had talent in sparking the humor in things, heaving the woe of even the most splintered of spirits. Furthermore, he was an active member of St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Miguel and Guadalupe Valverde; brothers Mike, Oscar, Joe, Robert, Richard, James, Ernest, and Alfred: sister Rebecca Hernandez, and great grandson Henry Ford. He is survived by wife, Marie Valverde: brother Edward (Santos), sister Helen Garcia; children Gilbert (Diana), Sandy Vail (Russell), David (D'ann), Lori Carte (Thomas); his grandchildren: Allison, Jaime (Tyler), Elizabeth, Travis, Lauren, Karen (William), Wendy (Patrick), Timothy (Lisa), Christian, Titus, Thomas III (Lesly), Shelby, and Hannah; great grandchildren: Declan, Liam, Milo, Isabella, William, Ezio, Raiden, Molly, Lucy, Annabella, Charlotte, and Henrietta; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
The family of Gilbert would like to extend a special "Thank You" to the nurses, doctors, and staff of Houston Healthcare Clear Lake for taking care of our father.
