

GIOVANNA “Gee” MASTERSON, passed peacefully to be with our Lord and Savior and other loved ones in Heaven. Gee was born in Brooklyn, New York and spent her childhood in Metuchen, New Jersey. She attended college at NYU and ultimately found her way to Texas with John Masterson, her loving and devoted husband of 57 years. She was involved in the Northwest Forest Republican Women’s Club for a number of years and treasured her continued friendships made through this club. Gee loved meeting new people and was loved by all that met her. Her greatest joy in life was being with her family. Gee never met a stranger and was never at a loss for words – she was a lively conversationalist and wordsmith indeed! She was a spirited individual who will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her mother Anne Maher, her father Giovanni Schiavo, her daughter Anne Russell and her grandson, Ronnie Masterson. She is survived by her husband, John C. Masterson, her children, Mary Frances Masterson, Kelly Masterson Davis, John M. Masterson and Mary Beth Marcussen, and her grandchildren, Ashley Russell, Jana Marcusen, Lauren Marcussen, Nicholas Masterson, and John Cory Masterson. She is also survived by her sister, Eleanor Leonard and brother-in-law George Leonard, sister-in-law Margaret Poling and many nieces and nephews who absolutely adored her.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Nov. 1 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Vigil at 6:30 p.m. and Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home, 13102 North Fwy., Houston, Texas 77060. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church, 7810 Cypresswood Drive, Spring, Texas, 77379. Interment will follow at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery.
