

Girdie Lee Robins, the daughter of the late Roxie Butler Johnson and the late Elisha Robins, was born June 22, 1922 in Magnolia Texas. She dedicated her life to Christ at a very young age. She married Charles Willie Bundage, Sr June 3, 1938. To this union were born 18 children. She was a faithful member of St. Matthews Missionary Baptist Church in Magnolia, Texas. She later moved to Houston Texas. She worked on the council of the Gulf Coast Community Services Association. She received a certificate of appreciation for her work from former Houston Mayor Fred Hofheinz. She began her fraternal life in Magnolia Texas. When she moved to Houston Texas, she joined the Queen of Sheba Grand Chapter Order of the Eastern Star during the leadership of the Honorable Claude L. Woods, Past Grand Master. She became Matron of one of the chapters of the jurisdiction of Texas. She was one of the founders of the first female drill team in Houston. She later joined the Female High Degree Department. She was a faithful member of the following High Degree Departments: The Amaranth Court, Heroines of Jericho, Ladies of Knights Templar, of which she was a Matron, Daughters of Sphinx and The Rose of Seven Seals. She held local, state, and national offices in all of the High Degree departments. She was a faithful member of Macedonia Baptist Church and later Bethel Baptist Church in Houston Texas. She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Willie Bundage, Sr., Charles Willie Bundage Jr., Michael Bundage, Murdis Marie Byrd; infants: Gerald Bundage, Dwight David Bundage, Annette Bundage, Patricia Bundage, and a set of infant twins. She is survived by five daughters: Mary Mathews, Doris Coleman, Aminah (Barbara Ann) Magee-Brooks, Girdie Mae Bradley, and Annett Bundage; four sons: Jerry Bundage, Bobby James Mathews, Phil Bundage, and Floyd Edward Bundage III; and more than 150 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
