Gladys Gertrude Roberson Choate, beloved wife, mother, and aunt, made her transition on April 3rd, 2015 at the age of 98. She was born on a farm in Collinwood, Tennessee on November 19, 1916. She was the 4th of 8 children born to Nipsey Copeland and Blaine Roberson. She left home at 16 to marry and move to Texas. She was a renowned baker, handy mechanic’s assistant to her husband, and endlessly patient playmate to all children.
Gladys was preceded in death by her sweet and funny husband, Wilson, whom she was married to for 56 years. She is survived by her son, Roger Choate. Also surviving is her nephew, Dan Muniza and his wife, Kay; niece, Cindy Fisher; niece, Susan Hilder and her husband, Guy; niece, Lisa Bone and her husband, Hollis; great-nieces Peyton Fisher, Lindsey Bone, Lauren Bone, and Samantha Hilder; great-nephews Evan Fisher and Nikolaus Hilder; and her amazing care-givers Elsa Garcia and Carolyn Hill.
A memorial service was held on Friday, April 17, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. at Waltrip Funeral Home on 1415 Campbell Road, Houston, TX 77055.
