My condolences to Debra and the Washington family.  Your family will be in my prayers.

My grandmother meant the world to me. Without your guidance, I wouldn't be the person I am today. You made me a strong, proud, independent woman. My heart is broken that I could not be with you in your time of need nor attend your beautiful farewell service.  Momma I know you're here with me, in my heart. You are a beautiful soul and I will cherish our memories forever.  I am so glad you came to visit me in Canada.

Debra and the rest of the family....I am so sorry for your loss.  Growing up in the neighborhood I remember her walking everyday with her stick in hand, she even convinced my mom (Earline Green) to go with her.  I have so many fond memories.  My prayers are with you all.

Debra, there are so many fond memories of Ms. Washington.  I can recall the junior usher days and riding the bus/van to Churches Chicken and Burger King; the many picnics and other outings; her famous fried chicken; her leg shaking when she got happy at church; and many more.  My last fond memory was her 90th birthday party and how she danced with my mom.  Ms. Washington was a beautiful lady inside and out.  My prayers of comfort and peace are extending to you and the family.  Love you all!

Debra, my prayers are with you and your family. You did excellent taking care of your mother. She kept the faith and now she has finished her course. Hold your head up because God is up and she's with Him.


I can remember as child being kept by Gladys or Sister, as affectionately called by relatives. I am forever grateful and appreciative for the time, love and kindness she gave me. Her love and kindness favorably improved the lives of so many she bestowed it upon

Mother Washington along with her daughter, Debra Kelson Bennett loved and embraced me from the moment we met. I'm thankful for the time I spent with her and the lasting impression she's made on me. 
I'll miss the "sweet treats" she baked for my son and I but even more I'll miss her calm and unwavering spirit.
