Glenn Rowe Blackman Jr.

Glenn Blackman Jr., a devoted husband, father, grandfather, family man, and longtime Houston finance professional, passed away on July 26, 2026.

Glenn was born on September 23, 1941, in Houston, Texas. He built a distinguished career in the financial industry, joining Fayez Sarofim & Co. in May 1976, where he served as a Senior Associate. He remained with the firm for more than 36 years before retiring on December 31, 2012.

Glenn also proudly served with the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary, including serving as a Flotilla Commander in the Galveston area. His service reflected his lifelong connection to the water and the outdoors.

An avid outdoorsman, Glenn found great enjoyment in boating, fishing, hunting, and golf, and he had a lifelong passion for motorcycles. Whether on the water, in the woods, on the road, or simply spending time with those closest to him, he appreciated the experiences and traditions that brought family and friends together.

Above all, Glenn was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He showed his love through his generosity, acts of kindness, and steadfast commitment to providing for and caring for his family. His grandchildren brought great joy to his life, and he cherished the time and memories he shared with them.

Glenn shared 31 years of marriage with his loving wife, Margaret Jeanette Blackman. He was the proud father of his two sons, Glenn Blackman III (Trey) and Michael Chase Blackman, from a previous marriage. Glenn shared a close and enduring bond with his sons and took great pride in their lives and families. Family was deeply important to him, and he and Margaret maintained a second home in Louisiana so they could spend more time near his sons, their spouses, and grandchildren and remain an active part of their lives.

Through his marriage to Margaret, Glenn also shared a special bond with Kim, Lori, and Johnathon (John), whom he loved and cared for as his own. They shared a close and loving relationship that remained an important part of his life.

Glenn will be remembered for the life he built, the family he loved and provided for, his generosity toward others, and the many years he devoted to his career, service, and the people who mattered most to him. His presence will be deeply missed, and his legacy will live on through the family he loved and the many lives he touched.

The viewing will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 1, 2026, followed by a graveside service at 2:00 p.m. at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale St., Houston, Texas 77023.
