

Gloria was born to Carl and Trini, September 22,1938 in Houston, TX. She graduated from Milby High School in 1957 and received a bachelor’s degree from The University of Houston in 1962. She married Anthony DeSantos in 1962, and they lived together in Houston, TX. Together they raised 2 children.
She is survived by: Brigitte DeSantos (Spouse Name: Michael Fass), Bernadette DeSantos-Redford, Steve Redford, MaryAnn Alvarez. She also leaves to cherish her memory Tina and Francine Castro and Charlie and Nathan Martinez.
She was preceded in death by Dorthy Castro, sister, Carolyn Martinez, sister, and Trini (mother) Roy Orta Stepfather.
Gloria worked as an executive secretary for the Texas Railroad Commission for 30 years. She enjoyed eating good food, and off-priced dept. Stores, going to the movies and loved ice cream.
In the 1980s, mom founded "Silent Entertainment," which collaborated with cinemas to provide closed captions for select movies, enabling people with hearing challenges to enjoy films.
A Funeral is scheduled for Saturday, August 9th at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home and Forest Park Lawndale 6900 Lawndale Street Houston TX 77023. Private Viewing 10-11 AM, Public Viewing 11-12 PM. The service is in the chapel at 2:00 with the burial at 3:00. A reception will follow at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home. Brigitte and Bernadette with their children Arianna, Ava and Anabelle Finger and Haley and Hayden Redford will officiate the ceremony. The family requests that if you send flowers, please have those delivered by Friday morning at 6900 Lawndale Funeral Home. The family would like to thank all the people that Mimi knew and whose lives crossed. She was a dedicated good friend to all. She loved you all.
