

Gloria Granados Vasquez passed away peacefully on May 27, 2026, at her home surrounded by her family and loved ones. Born on March 25, 1937, in Houston, Texas, Gloria lived a life deeply rooted in faith, family, compassion, and service.
While her family mourns her loss, they also find comfort in knowing she is now reunited with her beloved husband, Tony, whom she cherished dearly throughout their 66 years of marriage.
Gloria dedicated many years of her professional career to Memorial Hermann Hospital, where she worked faithfully until her retirement.
Her commitment to caring for others extended beyond her profession and into every aspect of her life. Gloria and her husband, Tony, were devoted members of Resurrection Catholic Church for more than five decades. After officially joining the parish in August 1984, they faithfully served their church community, contributing in countless ways through ministry, fellowship, and prayer. Gloria contributed in countless ways, including teaching youth programs, assisting in the kitchen during church events, and, after retirement, opening her home to lead a prayer group for over 12 years.
Family was the center of Gloria’s life, and she leaves behind a legacy of unwavering love and devotion. She is survived by her three loving children: Anthony Vasquez (Orpha), Elizabeth Ann Lopez (Leandro), and John Martin Vasquez (Angelique). She was a proud grandmother to ten grandchildren: Leah Velasquez (Cecil), Megan Vasquez, Amanda Vasquez, Marlo Seymour (Daryl), Mindy Vasquez (Dominique Escobar), Marcus Vasquez (Tiffany), Jennifer Gonzalez, Priscilla Flores (Marco), Jesika Vasquez (George Guajardo Jr.), and John Martin Vasquez Jr. Her cherished legacy continues through her 19 great-grandchildren: JoAnna, Lauren, Alexa, Angelyssa, Antonio, Alejandro, Kaylee, George Jr., Ava, Caleb, Anniston, Camden, Audrey, Olivia, Hayden, Madilynn, Ella, Ethan, and Brooks; as well as one great-great-grandchild, Ace.
Gloria is also survived by her brother, Joe Nemesio Granados and his wife, Gloria; her sisters, Carmen Arrambide and Susie Granados Sanchez; and her sisters-in-law, Aurora Granados and Leticia Granados.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Tony; her parents, Francisco and Jesusita Granados; and her siblings, Anita Espinedo, Elvira Bernal, Isabel Granados, Raymond Granados, and Frank Granados Jr.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m., at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023.
Funeral Mass services will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026, at Resurrection Catholic Church, 915 East Zoe Street, Houston, TX 77020. Viewing will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., followed by Mass from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Interment will immediately follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023.
May Gloria’s soul rest in eternal peace, and may her memory forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
