Greg was born on November 14, 1966 in Houston, Texas. Greg is survived by his loving wife Angela Farris, his children Daniel, Brittany and Joshua, and stepchildren Jeremiah and Natasha. He also leaves to cherish his memory his loving mother Exar Mae “Sarah” Porter and stepfather Gene Porter, four grandchildren, his nephews Brandon (wife Jessica) and Bryce Farris, and his cousins Keith and Valerie Chatham and Mary Harris. Greg was preceded in death by his father Danny Lee Farris and his sister Deana Kathleen Farris.
Greg was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a devout Christian man and regularly made his faith known. To say that Greg was a hard worker would be a huge understatement. He proudly represented his CPChem family in Baytown, Texas for 29 years, setting himself apart as a leader and mentor among his peers. When he wasn’t at work, he kept himself busy with home improvement projects and repairs. He had an excellent work ethic and never backed down from a challenge. He had a servant’s heart and would sacrifice his time, energy and resources without hesitation for those who needed it and expected nothing in return. He loved hosting family gatherings and cooking. Greg was also a fierce competitor and frequently held sanctioned family cornhole tournaments at his house, of which he and his beautiful niece Penelope were the two-time undisputed champions. Trash-talking was a common strategy that he used to ensure his victory. Despite his serious disposition, Greg loved to laugh … often at the expense of others. His practical jokes were masterfully concocted works of art that would rival the creative mind of Beethoven himself. It didn’t matter if you worked with him or lived with him, nobody was safe from his mischief. Without a doubt, the person he loved to prank most was his beautiful wife, Angela Farris. He absolutely doted on her and would tell anyone and everyone about his Colombian bride. Greg and Angela were passionate about good music, good wine, and dancing as they traveled the world together; they truly brought out the best in each other’s lives. God blessed their marriage for five wonderful years during which time Greg was very proud to be her husband.
