Gregory J Rountree of Galena Park, Texas passed away on August 4, 2019 at the age of 59. Greg was born on April 13, 1960 in Houston, Texas to Johnnie and Kay Rountree.

Greg had an unmatched work ethic and spent a majority of his life working hard to take care of his family, and this was a source of pride for him. Starting when he was in high school, Greg held a full-time job. He worked at Armco Steel for several years, where he established life-long friendships. After leaving Armco, Greg made a career working for Anheuser-Busch in Houston, Texas for over 30 years. He also served as the business agent for Teamsters local 919 for 14 years. He was dedicated to doing the best for his members; he poured his heart and soul into his work and everything he did, he did with passion. He loved his fellow brewery workers like family.

Greg had many hobbies over the years. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing with his dad and his friends. He was an enthusiastic Nascar fan. He was an incredible cook. He loved riding motorcycles and he was proud of his Harley. He loved his family and his friends and would do anything for them. Greg was one of a kind and he loved to live life on the edge. He had respect for rules and tradition, but he also loved to bend and break rules and push limits.

Greg is survived by his wife of 39 years, Anne Mains Rountree, daughter Alison Rountree McKinney & husband Jacob McKinney, granddaughter Claire McKinney, brothers Lee Rountree and Troy Rountree & wife Kim Rountree, nieces Amanda Rountree and Elyse Rountree, nephew Tanner Rountree, family members Patty Rountree Echols & husband Tommy Echols. Greg had numerous friends that are also considered family. Greg was preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie and Kay Rountree.

I'd like to send my deepest condolences to the Rountree family. May God wrap His loving arms around you, and give you comfort, strength and peace.

I had the pleasure of working with Greg at Teamsters. He was an awesome boss and mentor! So down to earth, helpful and funny. I loved to see the fire inside of him, as he had such passion in serving the members of Local 919. I admired that about him. Greg truly fulfilled one of his greatest purposes in life through his role as BA. Always full of life, laughs and great times. God would say well done my good and faithful servant!
