Hazel Turner was born on November 30, 1930 in Midway, Texas to Ezzard and Pearl Wheaton. Hazel was the fourth of seven children. After moving to Houston, she pursued a career in upholstery. Hazel gave birth to two children Jeanette and Alvin. Later she met and married Norris Turner. They were married until his death. She loved the Lord and was a member of Fifth Ward Church of Christ. One of her favorite scriptures was 23rd Psalms. She attended church and applied the teachings to her life. Hazel was a hardworking woman who loved helping everyone she crossed paths with. Hazel enjoyed spending time with her family. She had a reputation of being a great cook. Which resulted in her opening her very own barbeque place. One of her greatest assets was giving advice, she would grunt and then the advice would come. Whether she was speaking wisdom or making you laugh, Hazel was the true definition of a great friend, mother, grandmother and great grandmother
