Helen was born in Huntsville Texas, to her loving parents Frank and Irene York. She was educated in the Huntsville ISD. After graduation she moved to Houston Texas, where she attended Cosmetology School. While attending cosmetology school she met and married the love of her life Albert Lee Prophet who resides in heaven. Together they raised and nurtured their children Janet Caldwell Tates, Freyer Prophet and Michael Caldwell, Sr. There was never a lack of love and affection in the Prophet’s household, all were welcomed and loved unconditionally. Helen was employed with Houston ISD and Aldine ISD in the food service department. Mama Helen, as she was affectionately called loved to cook. Her Sunday meals made her home the attraction for many family members, friends and often people she didn’t know. She cherished the time she spent with family in Huntsville for special occasions. In her free time when she wasn’t busy cooking and entertaining family Mama Helen loved to fish. She enjoyed taking rides to Texas City to catch good saltwater fish. She also enjoyed catching freshwater fish in the country. Mama Helen never let you leave her presence without expressing her love for you and a wise word. Mama Helen was always known to be a phone call away. She loved to laugh and reminisce great times with family and friends. Mama Helen was a great mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and overall an exceptional loved one too many. Her beautiful grace and presence will forever remain in our hearts.
