

Henry (Hank) Allen Morris, Sr. was born in Manvel, Texas on January 26, 1920, and died on November 30, 2012 at the age of 92. He was a home builder in the Houston area for 40 years and former Director of the Texas Home Builders Association. He was a longtime member of Chapelwood United Methodist Church. Hank was a veteran of World War II. He was a First Sergeant in the 2759th Combat Engineer Battalion and served in North Africa, Italy, France and Germany. The unit received six battle stars for campaigns in the European Theatre from 1942 to 1945.
Hank was preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years, Stella Ila Morris, and daughter, Malinda Anne Morris. He is survived by his son, Henry Allen Morris, Jr. and wife Donna; daughter, Heidi Anne Hughes and husband Bill; grandsons, Jordan Allen Morris and Brian William Heinrich; granddaughter, Kirsten Danielle Morris; stepson, Cecil G. Deming and wife Ramona; step grandchildren, Darrell Craig Deming and wife Peggy, Mitchell Allen Deming and Nannette Yvonne Deming; four step great-grandchildren and two step great-great-grandchildren; and brother, George Laigle Morris and wife Alice.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 7, 2012 at Waltrip Funeral Directors. Graveside services will follow at 12 Noon in Houston National Cemetery, Rev. Mopsy Andrews, officiating. Interment will follow in Houston National Cemetery.
