Herschel Denny Morrison, Jr., 85, died on December 6, 2012. A native Houstonian, he was preceded in death by his mother Sue Baker Schoof and father Herschel D. Morrison. He graduated from Reagan High School, served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War, and graduated from the University of Houston. He retired from Daniel Industries as vice-president and treasurer. Herschel was an avid golfer and hunter and a devoted Astros fan. He is survived by his wife Evelyn P. Morrison; daughters Susan Morrison, Cheryl Chambers and her husband Douglas, Sandra McMillan and her husband Leslie, Deborah Hennagir and her husband Carl, and Denise Morrison; step-children Gary Liddell and his wife Pamela, and Michael Liddell and his wife Patricia; ten grandchildren; and eight step-grandchildren. Visitation will be held Friday, December 14, at 6 p.m. with the Vigil Service at 7 p.m. at Forest Park Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale St., Houston, TX 77023. The Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, December 15, at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 3617 Milam St., Houston, TX 77002. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Herschel’s name to St. Dominic Village, 2401 Holcombe Blvd., Houston, TX 77021.
