Herschell Jack McCunn Sr., 87, was born June 14, 1929 in Ardmore, Oklahoma, and passed away December 11, 2016 in Houston, Texas. He was an outgoing man with a great sense of humor who was dedicated to his wife of 65 years, family and work. He began his career with Magnolia Oil Co. in 1954 and from there went on to Pennzoil, Tomlinson Interests, and finally an independent geologist at Riverton Inc. for the remainder of his life.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Alma McCunn; two brothers, Donovan and Elvin McCunn and grandson, Jack McCunn III. He is survived by his wife, Amelia (Mickie) McCunn; sons, Jack and wife Doris and Scott and wife Theresa McCunn; daughter Paula Hatcher and husband Jimmy; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of loving friends.
A visitation will be held Thursday, December 15, 2016 from 1:00-2:30 p.m. at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home with funeral service starting at 2:30 p.m. Interment will immediately follow in Earthman Resthaven Cemetery.
