Hortense V Contreras

Hortense is preceded in death by her parents and youngest son, Gabriel Thomas Contreras. Her heart belonged to husband, Alfred Contreras Sr., they were blessed with 67 years of marriage. She was cherished by their four children, Geneva (Ralph), Rebecca (Linda), Alfred Jr. (Alice), and Gabriel. Remembered by her six grandchildren (Rina, Amanda, Andrew, Gabriel, Alex, Amber) and three great-grandchildren (Matthew, Nicholas, Kyle).

Her strength and compassion was highly respected by family who looked to her for guidance and support. She was the matriarch of the family and was led spiritually by her faith. She was kind, loving, and generous to all who knew her. Her life’s purpose as a full time mother and sacrifices made were to instill the value of hard work for their children in a loving home.

Tencha’s joy in life included tending to her garden, trying new recipes from her favorite cookbooks, dancing to tejano music, listening to Neil Diamond, and family gatherings including Easter Sundays at Memorial Park.

She was fortunate to live her life surrounded by love and shined on earth through faith, grace, and dignity. She was loved by everyone and will be truly missed by her family and friends.

We find comfort in the knowledge that Tencha’s kindness, compassion, and spirit will live on through those whom she has left behind…
