Born March 16, 1937, in Houston, he lived a life of love, hard work, and devotion to family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lilla and Francis Evans; sister Marilyn Glover; wife Judy Evans; and sons Stanley and Perry Evans. He is survived by his sister Barbara Rivera; son Noel Evans and his wife Julie Evans; daughter Gaylene Wier and Husband Marshall Wier; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Howard deeply loved his family and was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was known for his warmth, humor, and kindness, and to his children he was the greatest daddy. He enjoyed hunting, camping, motorcycles, and his pickup truck, and especially cherished time at his place in Weimar, Texas with family.
He graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in 1955 and attended Sam Houston State University. Through hard work, he built a successful sheet metal fabrication business. He will be remembered for his love, laughter, and the joy he brought to others.

Visitation will be held at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, on July 31, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at 12:00 pm. A Committal Service will follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
