

Isaac (Ike) Walls was born to Reverend Charlie Hilton Walls and Octavia (Richard) Walls on March 29, 1951, in Pine Flat, Louisiana. In 1958, he moved with his family to Rockport, Texas. As a youngster, he became a member of First Baptist Church and sang in the choir.
Isaac attended Rockport schools and became a star baseball pitcher at Rockport High School. His pitching skills earned him an unsuccessful tryout with a professional baseball team following high school. Isaac attended and played baseball at Texas Southern University, as well as at Prairie View A&M University.
Following a period of employment with Union Oil in California, Isaac returned to Texas and accepted employment with Exxon Refinery, Baytown, Texas. He made the Houston area his home until his death. Isaac retired from Exxon after approximately 30 years of service.
Isaac’s death is mourned by two sons: Michael Walls and Christopher Walls; grandchildren: Sadasia, Braeana, Zyah, Christianna, and Chaise; great grandchildren: Jayce and Truly; step children: Bobby Joe, Candace, Keith, Dennis, Latoya and Thomasina; sisters: Ada Matthews, Annie Burns, Shirley Grimes (Calvin), and Mary Whitfield (Dan); brothers: John Walls, Rudolph Walls, and Charles Gosey; sisters in law: Perleane Walls and Wanda Walls; along with a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends.
During his lengthy illness, Issac enjoyed watching church services on television. His love of sports continued. He spent hours watching sports, especially the Houston Astros. He enjoyed singing spirituals and R&B with family and friends who visited him. Most of all, he loved his family and friends. He spoke often of his faith and love for God. He was a very giving person and was truly loved by many.
Isaac passed away February 4, 2024, in Houston, Texas.
