

Isabel “Bobby” Alonzo age 86, passed away Saturday, May 5th 2012. Bobby was preceded in death by his 7 siblings and survived by numerous nieces and nephews who he loved very much. Survived by his wife Rosie Alonzo, and his children; Rose Mary Alonzo, Patricia Alonzo, Rick and his wife Sylvia Alonzo, Carol Alonzo, Marie Alonzo, Jorge and his wife Michelle Alonzo. He cherished his 8 grandchildren; Annette, Andrew and his wife Nadia, Justin, Matthew, Collin, Aleesia, Luis, Danielle and great-grandchildren; Madelyn and Benjamin. Our beloved husband, father and grandfather served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged as World War II Victory Medal Army of Occupational Medal Japan.
He retired from Richmond Tank Car Manufacturing Company after 40 years as Welder’s Foreman. At the same time, he worked in the hotel service industry at the Shamrock, Astroworld, Marriott and Hyatt hotels. He was hardworking, strong, proud, self-taught, generous, caring, loving, a good friend, humble, and an excellent provider.His great granddaughter said he was like sunshine and she will remember him forever. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 9th 2012 from 6pm until 8pm with a rosary at 7pm in the Chapel of Heights Funeral Home. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 10th 2012 at 11am at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church 3600 Brinkman St. Houston, TX 77018 Rite of committal will be at 12:30pm at Houston National Cemetery 10410 Veteran’s Memorial Drive, Houston TX.
