Israel N. Davila, 81, passed away March 9, 2013, surrounded by his family. He was born January 13, 1932. He drove cross country for Harlingen Canning Co. for 12 years, and was a carpenter for over 20 years, in Houston, at Local Union 213. He is preceded in death by his parents Tomas and Hermina N. Davila, and brother, Ramiro N. Davila. Israel is survived by his wife of 53 years, Lucia C. Davila; daughters, Maria (Mary) E. Encarnacion (William), A.M. (Shugar) Davila, Gloria D. Gongora (Mario), Angela D. Blanco (Andres Smalley); and son Robert T. Davila. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, 2 sisters: Elva Lozoya and Maria Luisa Saldivar, and numerous nephews and nieces.
