Isum James Syas

the sun did not set on the life of Isum James, Sr., on August 14, 2017, but rather it shined and danced across the blue sky.  The chapter of his earthly life came to a close and his heavenly life began.  From the day of his birth on March 27, 1961, to Pervis Jack Syas, Sr., and Irene Syas Mauldin, Isum was destined to touch and forever alter the lives of everyone he came in contact with.  Isum attended school in the Houston Independent School District (HISD) and graduated from Reagan High School in 1988,  He was employed by the Cowboy Trucking Company for 30 years.   He is preceded in death by both his parents, Pervis Jack Syas, Sr. and Irene Syas Mauldin; stepfather Elmer Chip Mauldin; his grandparents; and sister Darlene Mary Syas Stewart.  He leaves to cherish his memories three sons, Isum James, Jr., Isaiah Hollinshed, and Israel Hollinshed; four sisters, Savannah Syas Taplin (Elvin), Dyiena Lynn Syas; Leola Broussard Mauldin and Loretta Taylor; five brothers, Pervis Jack Syas, Sr. (Vita), Roland Edwards Syas, Clifton Joseph Despanie, David Dohunt and Wilford Cleveland; one uncle Adams Despanie; granddaughter Jamaria Hollinshed, and a host of nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
