J.D. Wilcox Jr., age 93, born July 4, 1918 in Calin County Merit, Texas to John Dean Wilcox and Mary E. Ashley passed away Monday, February 13, 2012. J.D. is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Martha Louise Wilcox; son: John Dean Wilcox; daughter: Linda Hutchenson; step daughters: Renate' Kleinsteuber, and Mary Evans, in addition to great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. J.D. was a diesel mechanic by trade. He worked for the government WWII as a traveling mechanic, servicing the Army trucks. In addition he worked for Ford Motors. He owned his own shop until his retirement in 1985 at the age of 67. He was a devout Christian of the Baptist faith.
Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, February 16, 2012 at Earthman Resthaven. J.D.'s Celebration of Life will be 12:30 p.m. Friday, February 17, 2012 in the Chapel of Earthman Resthaven. Interment will follow in Earthman Resthaven Cemetery.
