He was a much loved father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 61 year, Beryl “Tommie” Price Tankersley.
Jack was born May 6, 1925 in Glen Rose, Texas to S.G. and Olga Honea Tankersley. He spent formative years in Glen Rose and Fort Worth, moving to Houston in his teens.
OF all his accomplishments in life, he was most proud of his family. He liked nothing more than spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his son, John Tankersley, daughter, Jaclyn and her husband Tom Stringer. He is also survived by his three grandsons, Matthew, Daniel, and Adam Stringer, as well as two great grandchildren, Ivory and Kingston Stringer.
He was predeceased by his parents S.G. and Olga Tankersley, his wife Tommie, and his sister Paige Gilmore.
Visitation will be held Thursday November 6, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Services will take place Friday, November 7, 100:00 AM at Forest Park Lawndale.
