

Jacqueline Rose Labbe , 83 died Sunday, August 10, 2014. A native of Opelousas, Louisiana, she moved to Houston with her family in 1967. Jackie was one of six children born to the late Benjamin Guilbeau of Sunset, La. and the former Marie Sonnier of St. Landry Parish, La. She is preceeded in death by her parents, her husband of 66 years Joseph, her daughter Cynthia Labbe Durio and four brothers and sisters. She is survived by her son, David Labbe and his wife Margaret; grandchildren Matthew Labbe and Tracy Durio Wheat and her husband Chris; great grandchildren Cannon, Gage, Ren, Laney and Archer Wheat; all of Houston, TX, as well as brother Floyd Guilbeau of Palmdale, CA.
A warm smile was ever present on her face and a kind word was always quick to follow from her lips. Along with her sweet and gentle personality she is remembered for her strong work ethic as she spent 43 years, retiring at age 78, in her last job with a public accounting firm.
A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at 2:00 PM at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 11720 Joan of Arc, Houston, TX 77024 with a reception to follow in the community center. A private burial service will be held with family members the following Monday. Earthman Resthaven , 13102 North Freeway, is handling funeral arrangements.
Memorial contributions can be made in the name of Jackie Labbe to the Susan G. Komen breast cancer organization or the Houston and Southeast Texas Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association.
