Jada Marie Guinn

Jada Marie Guinn went to be with the Lord on March 2, 2020 at the age of 77. Jada was born February 6, 1943 in Cape May Courthouse, New Jersey. She came to accept Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior while living in Tanzania. She was baptized in the Indian Ocean by Baptist Missionary Cordell Akin. This experience led her to become a lifetime supporter of foreign missionaries. She married the love of her life August 17, 1963, Rodger S. Guinn. They were married 49 years. He told her he would show her the world and he did. She travelled extensively, living in 10 different countries, where her husband Rodger worked in the oil & gas industry. She was an accomplished artist whose talents ranged from porcelain to oil painting, watercolor to pen & ink. She was an internationally published porcelain artist who belonged to 3 different porcelain clubs. She was an avid motorcyclist who rode her own motorcycle thousands of miles. In addition to being a wonderful mother & homemaker Jada was an entrepreneur who had several small businesses. She had a beauty shop/hair salon in Kuwait, a drapery business in Lebanon, fine porcelain and custom tile business Jada’s Designs in Conroe, TX and then joined her daughter Eva in a permanent makeup business. Her and her family attended West Conroe Baptist Church where she was a member for 25 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents James Fredrick Troy and Betty Jane Mapes; husband Rodger Sherman Guinn. She is survived by her son Jason Thomas Guinn & fiancé Verna Dee Lewis; daughter Eva Marie Goode & son-in-law Kenneth Royce Goode; grandsons Rodger Warren Goode, Nathaniel Kenneth Goode & William Maverick Goode; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Her family remembers her as a generous and loving woman who lived her life in a way that was a testament to her Christian faith. She was strong in her convictions and beliefs. We find our peace knowing her last days were on her terms, in her home and her bed looking out at her garden. Service will be March 14, 2020 at West Conroe Baptist Church 1855 Longmire Rd, Conroe, TX 77304 at 11:30 a.m., preceded by gravesite service at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery 13102 North Fwy Houston, Texas 77060.
