James Robbie “Bob” Batten, was born in Bryan, Texas on Saturday, July 19, 1919, to James Edward and Ida Nancy (Tullous) Batten. He passed away in Houston, Texas on Friday, June 8, 2012, at the age of 92.
Bob proudly served his country in the United States Army and Army Air Corps. In 1945, he moved to Houston after his return from Germany at the end of World War II.
Bob is survived by his wife, Iris Cassandra Batten, whom he met, fell in love with, and married while stationed in England. He is also survived by their only daughter, Pamela Lynne Poole and husband John; grandchildren, Jeremy V. Landino, U.S. Army, Alexa Paige Poole and John Cody Poole.
Family and friends will gather on Saturday, June 16th at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Waltrip Funeral Directors, 1415 Campbell Road in Houston, where Reverend Jeff Moran will conduct a memorial service celebrating this wonderful man's life.
