James Michael Broomas departed on Saturday, September 17, 2011. Born in Baytown, TX, January 31, 1954, Jim was a graduate of the University of Texas and a lifelong Texan. Jim was predeceased by father, Michael Broomas, mother Irene Vathis Broomas, and brother Spiro Broomas. Jim is survived by nephew Barrett Broomas, niece Elise Broomas and Aunt Mary Pepps and numerous cousins. Jim’s surviving Godchildren are Mary Stella Golding, James Emanuel Stamatakis and Menalaus Spiro Broomas. Jim was a lifelong member of the Greek Orthodox Church, Delta Kappa Epsilon Fraternity, and the American Hellenic Progressive Educational Association. He was a member of the Texas Ex Alumni Association and supported U.T. charities and foundations extensively and other charities too numerous to list. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, September 22 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale St., Houston, TX. Funeral Services are set for Friday September 23, at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home.
