How good it is to see you in full laughter in this photo on the beach. I have not seen you in years and years and now seeing you laughing - every moment of when I knew you, is fully vibrant again and right in front of me - Your endearing and all-embracing manner, the way you Allen look to each other, Lupa on the sofa and a well stocked fridge of chocolate and orange juice, you up for anything, your professionalism and attention to detail, and your great unwavering support of others. I met Jimmy and Allen while still studying at the Art students League, they took me under their wings and became my patrons- patrons of my young and searching art. They enthusiastically organized exhibits in their upper east side apartment to introduce my work to a new audience- any audience, told people my work was intriguing, when I had yet to believe in myself. The encouragement you two gave me to paint is what helped me to continue with my work, and to see myself become an artist - I thank you and am grateful. I imagine every child in this world with someone like you beside them, who believes in them,  and how many great gifts can be shared with the seed of early encouragement. I will remember that your whole face and body laughed when you laughed, and that you saw in others around you something worthy before they themselves could even begin recognize it- I remember and saw this with the way you interacted with all the people you worked with. I can see you perfectly right now as I write - you are so radiant. Allen my heart aches for the loss of your best friend, your person in life-Jimmy, -who you dreamed with, who together you navigated this journey of life- .. you want to hear him again. The pain of you who miss your brother Jimmy, and am so pained for Jimmy's parents who miss their beautiful son and want only to hold him. Thank you Jimmy, you are a good one. I am so incredibly sorry. James was a special, dear and sweet man who touched my life in so many ways.

Dearest Allen,
I will never forget you and Jimmy welcoming Sophie, Emma and me into your home and family. He is in my heart and thoughts, a dear friend and an inspiring man. All our love to you at this sad time. Jimmy and I studied Buddhism together and I know in that tradition, sadness becomes light, and sorrow compassion. So I will hold him in light, and breathe in his sweetness.
