

After graduating from West Orange-Stark High School in Orange, TX, he moved to Houston to begin his 30+ year upholstery career. After a few different names, Vandrick James Furniture was formed after the birth of his son. James is a talented and skilled craftsman in the world of upholstery and was highly respected by all who knew and worked with him.
James is survived by his spouse Kenny Benavente, and his son Vandrick Inman-Benavente. He is also survived by his mother Betty Inman, his sister Tracy Benoit and her husband Hart Benoit, brother Kevin Inman and his wife Becky Inman. He is also survived by multiple nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at 11AM at the Heights Funeral Home, 1317 Heights Blvd, Houston, TX 77008.
In lieu of flowers, anyone who wishes to honor James is requested to make a contribution to Vandrick’s college fund. A trust currently is being set up for Vandrick James Inman-Benavente and the family respectfully requests that any donations be made in Vandrick’s name.
