He was born on February 29, 1932, to Roman & Mabel Lamberty in Northfield, Minnesota.
James graduated from Northfield High School in 1951.
He enlisted in the Air Force in 1952 and retired after 20 years of service as a Master Sergeant in 1972.
He then joined the United States Postal Service and retired after 20 years of service.
In 1956, James married Norma Jean Evans. They had one child, Stephanie.
After retirement, James spent his spare time fishing at Lake Livingston and later discovered his love of saltwater fishing in Galveston Bay and Texas City.
James was predeceased by his parents, his wife, and 2 brothers, Bill & Paul.
He is survived by his daughter Stephanie Carlat & husband Charles; 5 sisters: Kathryn Brandon & husband Gerald, Mary Hughes, Patricia Imai, Sister Margaret Lamberty and Veronica Otte & fiancée Mark Wilson; 1 brother David Lamberty & wife Nikki; granddaughter Wendy Bradford & husband Jason; 1 great granddaughter Zoe; and numerous nieces and nephews.
