James Douglas Spencer, age 77 of Crosby passed away peacefully October 21, 2020.
He was born May 28, 1943 in Austin, Texas to Arthur Scott and Florence Scalley Spencer. He was a loving husband, son, brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, great-uncle, mentor, and friend. At an early age he was devoted to his children and their sports. He coached Little League baseball where he was a role model to all he encountered. He was a volunteer fireman for the Hearn Fire Department and worked for Southern Pacific which later became Union Pacific from 1965 to 2004. He will be truly missed for all his shenanigans and jokester personality.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, John Scott Spencer.
Survivors include his doting and loving wife, Diana Dean Spencer whom he married July 15, 1964 , his two sons Stephen Douglas Spencer (Elle) of Tucson, Arizona and David Shane Spencer (Erika) of Crosby, five grandchildren, Danielle Paige of Crosby, Sarah Elizabeth of Kingwood, Drew Scott and Tori West of Crosby, Erin Diana of Huffman, one great-grandson Jase James (JJ) Spencer of Crosby, Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The funeral service will be Saturday, October 31st, at 1p.m. at Forest Park Lawndale in Houston Tx.
Honorable Pallbearers are Steve Harrison, John Allen Schmittou, Paul Moody, Billy Haseman, Lex Cowan, Max Cowan, Leroy Farrar, grandson Drew Spencer, and great-grandson Jase Spencer.
