James Lamar Trevathan, Jr., passed away in McKinney, Texas on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, after spending a few months in Utah moving his son to college. Jim was born and grew-up in Houston and was a 1979 graduate of Sharpstown High School, where he excelled in athletics, He played professional baseball as a member of the Chicago White Sox organization. He attended and played baseball for Baylor University and graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Business Management and Marketing from Houston Baptist University. Later, he worked tirelessly to build a successful company from the ground up, Interlinc 7 Roofing Partners LLC.
On May 13, 1989, he married the love of his life, Renee Beard, and they began a wonderful life together. Jim enjoyed all sports, being outdoors, especially the beach, and loved classic and Christian rock, but his passions were their three sons; Ty, Hunter and Cade Trevathan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and James Lamar Trevathan, Sr., and in addition to Renee and his boys, Jim is survived by his sisters; Jeannie Ryan and Susan Arons.
Jim’s family invites you to celebrate his life on Sunday, October 3, 2021, at 11 a.m. at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery, 6900 Lawndale St., Houston, Texas 77023. Please wear your favorite Hawaiian shirt to honor his love for the beach. David Morrell and Dale Hill will lead the celebration.
