Jim went to public school in Chicago, then went into The Marne Corp. in 1946 served in Europe and Aleutian Islands. After the Marines he used the GI bill to get his Master’s Degree from the University of Illinois. After college he worked at Billboard Magazine as a writer and reporter. Then Jim went into the printing industry. He worked at Uarco Business forms in Chicago, then transferred to Houston Texas in 1959. After 10 years he started Brunswick Press, which has been in business in Houston for over 50 years. His three sons Jim, Bob and Tom now run the business. Jim was an avid golfer and played many rounds with his golf buddies and sons for more than 50 years,
Jim was a Family man and great Father above all else. He was married to the love of his life – Barbara, for more than 70 years. He is preceded in death by Arthur Wickman and Ann Nielson, he is survived by his 3 sons, 1 daughter in-law, 7 grandkids and a dozen great grandkids.
A Celebration of Life Service for James will be held Monday, March 17, 2025 at 10:30 AM at Waltrip Funeral Directors, 1415 Campbell Road, Houston, Texas 77055.
