Our condolences to Ms. Jan's family. Ms. Jan was a classy lady. She taught all of the young women and men, on 5A at Methodist Hospital on Fannin, how to do conduct themselves period. Wonderful mentor and coach. Always gentle when she spoke but you knew when she meant business. Never a hair out of place. She will truly be missed. We were blessed to be around her.

I am finding it hard to put into words what the last 40 years of knowing you meant to me, because there are not enough words to hold that kind of gratitude. You were never “just” a coworker. You were family—a sister, a dear friend, and someone I could always count on, no matter what the day brought.

From the very beginning, you had a way of making people feel welcome. You showed up every day with kindness and sincerity, and you carried yourself with quiet strength and integrity. You listened without judgment, you spoke with care, and you had a gift for steadying a room simply by being in it.

I will never forget how often you brought out the best in the people around you. You made me feel seen, supported, and understood more times than I can count. When things were busy, you made them manageable. When they were hard, you made them bearable. And when there was something to celebrate, you knew how to make even the smallest wins feel meaningful.

We shared so much more than work. We shared real life—inside jokes, long days, hard seasons, and the kind of laughter that stays with you long after the moment has passed. We shared stories, small routines, and those everyday conversations that somehow turn into the memories you carry for a lifetime.

I am so grateful for the bond we built and for all the memories we made along the way. Thank you for your patience, your warmth, and the countless ways you showed up for me and for so many others.

Thank you for being such an important part of my life. I will carry you in my heart always.

Jan was my biggest and loudest cheerleader when I came to Methodist. She was a motivational friend and encouraged everyone to be a better version and to strive towards a brilliant outcome and attitude. 

She’s smiling. She’s happy. The Jan I know always is ♥️
