Janie was born in Strong, AR to Otis Russell and Mary Russell. She was preceded in death by daughter Billie Rae Warren; granddaughter Carrie Marie Warren, parents Otis Russell and Mary Blair and stepfather Alvin Blair (Doc); brother Ottis Russell.
She is survived by son, Rex Warren (wife, Betty), of New Caney, Texas; daughter Linda Taylor (husband, Jim) of Gunter, Texas; Vickie Nelson (husband David) of Horseshoe Bay, Texas, along with 8 grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Janie came from one of the hardest yet greatest eras of time. Her first job was at Elaine’s Kiddie School. She was known to have the best dressed kids in school due to her sewing talents. While working at Elaine’s Kiddie School she put herself through Cosmetology School. She was a hairdresser up to her retirement at the age of 78. Janie owned two successful hair salons throughout her career. She was known as one of the best hairdressers in the Spring Branch area.
Janie’s favorite things to do were dancing, sewing, cooking, baking and most important the time spent with her children and grandchildren.
Janie passed peacefully at Oaks Nursing Home in Burnet, Texas surrounded by her family. She is now reunited with those she dearly loved who preceded her in death.
