

She graduated from Centerville High School and eventually moved to Houston, Texas where she wed Edwin Miller Buchanan and from this union, two children were born, Eddie Jantrese Buchanan-Watkins and Edwin Emanuel Buchanan. Jannie Sue Buchanan moved to Houston, Texas after having graduated
from Centerville High School, and quickly realized that the transition would not be easy without further education and training. To ease the transition, she enrolled into The Franklin Beauty School to become a Nail Technician and thus began a lengthy career in the field of beauty. She concluded her long career at the tinder age of 75, with the last 25 years of her career dedicated to Beautique Day Spa & Salon located in Rice Village.
After retirement, Jannie traveled and attended many events with her Living Word Fellowship family. Jannie accepted the Lord Jesus Christ at an early age and remained steadfast until her health failed her. Prior to her health failing, she was a faithful member of Living Word Fellowship Church, and from the outpouring of support from her congregational brothers and sisters, a well loved member.
This is merely a summary of Jannie Buchanan’s life, therefore it does not begin to describe the type person she was nor how many people’s lives she touched.
Jannie Buchanan was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Miller Buchanan, her 4 sisters, Laura Mae Rhodes, Carrie Lou Bartley, Helen Lois Theus, Faye Ernestine Nash and her nephew Stevie E. Nash. She is survived by her two children, her grandson (Adam Elija Watkins), her nieces and nephews and many other relatives and dear friends.
