

Jean Sterrett Ware of Corpus Christi Texas graduated to her eternal heavenly home on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at the age of 97. From 1970 until her death, she was a prayer warrior, mentor and intercessor for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Because of her love and service to the Lord, she had a lasting impact on those around her.
She was born on October 27, 1927 in Breckenridge, Texas but she lived in Houston during her early years. She and her husband finally made their permanent home in Corpus Christi. She was a talented sculptor and artist who used her gifts for the glory of God. For example, her most recognized artwork was a series of 6 bas-relief copper panels depicting the creation, birth of Christ, last supper, crucifixion, resurrection and fellowship of God and man. Each piece was (size) and they are displayed as a group in the sanctuary at Parkway Presbyterian Church in Corpus Christi. Jean loved being an adventurous accomplished cook who never used paper or plastic at the dining table.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Stephen Harrison Ware Jr., her brother Sam L Sterrett Jr., her parents Sam L Sterrett Sr. and Murrell Hendricks Sterrett and grandson Jonathan D. Bacon.
She is survived by her children: Stephen Harrison Ware III (Lynn), Barbara Ann Dake (Benny), Murrell Lynn Whelan (Brian), Marc Sterrett Ware (Sherry), 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren so far.
There will be a celebration of life service at Parkway Presbyterian Church, 3707 Santa Fe St Corpus Christi, Texas, on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at 2PM. All are welcome to attend.
