Jeanette Lewis, age 85, passed away Thursday, June 27, 2013 in Pearland, Texas. She was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana. She was an excellent baker of delicious cakes, and enjoyed gambling with her family and church friends at Coushatta Casino in Louisiana. She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Leroy Lewis; her parents, Abraham and Anita Neveu; brothers, Utiz Neveu, Harold Neveu, Abraham Neveu, and Thomas Neveu; sisters, Lenola Neveu, and Patricia Dixon. She is survived by her son, Stephen Lewis and wife Sherrill; granddaughter, Erica Okoronkwo and husband Gilbert; great-grandson, Jacob Emmanuel Okoronkwo; brother, Joseph Neveu and wife Mary Louise; sister, Earlene Batiste and husband Allen; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held 8:45 a.m. to 9:15 a.m., Monday, July 1, 2013 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 4600 Reed Road, Houston, Texas 77051, with the Rosary to be recited at 9:15 a.m. The Mass Of Christian Burial will then be at 10:00 a.m. The Rite of Committal Graveside Service will follow at Paradise South Cemetery.
