Jeanette (Schramm) Wright
March 7, 1932 – August 26, 2020
On Wednesday, August 26, 2020 Jean Wright, loving mother of 3 children, 6 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren passed away at the age of 88.
Jean was born March 7, 1932 in Tampa, FL to Max and Annette McCatty Schramm. She graduated salutatorian from Hillsborough High School in 1949, received a secretarial certification from Brewster Technical College in 1950. On December 17, 1950 she married Louis Phillips Wright. They raised three sons, Louis Jr., Rick, and Russell. Jean loved her church and was an active member of Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church.
Family and friends enjoyed her talent of baking and cooking skills throughout the years. She was a former president of the Prime Timers and was a tireless volunteer in their many functions. She was a former president of her garden club. She was a volunteer usher for the Houston Symphony, her excuse to attend as many events as possible! She was an excellent seamstress and loved to make decorative crafts with friends. She had a knack for finding great bargains from flea markets to department stores. She was always a well-dressed lady and would light up any room with her smile and kindness. She will be dearly missed by family and friends.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband Louis Wright, father Max, mother Annette, and brother Robert Schramm. She is survived by her 3 boys, Louis Jr., Rick and his wife Sherry, and Russell and his wife Angela, her sisters Maxine Green and Carolyn Mintz, her 6 grandchildren, Allyson and husband Graham, Abigail, Casey, Tyler and wife Victoria, Max, and Parker, 5 great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial to celebrate Jean’s life is scheduled for Thursday, September 10, 2020, 11:00am at Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church, 11612 Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77024 Phone (713) 782-1710.
