Jennie Canino

Jennie Marino Canino, born March 13, 1912 passed away on September 8, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Canino and granddaughter, Mary Theresa Zannone. Jennie is survived by children, John Carl Canino Jr. and wife Louise, Joseph Canino, Virgie Canino Slater and husband G. Emmett. She was lovingly known as Momo to 10 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and a host of great-great grandchildren and other loving relatives. Jennie was also loved and cared for in her later years by her caregiver Jacqueline Hayes. She will be remembered for her love of gardening, beautiful quilts and wonderful home cooking. Her home was always a gathering place for family and friends to come together for all occasions for many years. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, September 10, 2010 with a vigil service at 7:00 p.m., in the Chapel of Earthman Resthaven. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, September 11, 2010 at Assumption Catholic Church, 901 Rose Lane, Houston, Texas with rite of committal at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in her honor.
