Jennie “Jerry” Lutz

March 13, 1928 – July 31, 2019

Jerry was a loving wife, mother & grandmother. She especially enjoyed being around family & friends – reminiscing old times and learning new things. Born in Enid, OK, she graduated with an art degree from Univ. of Okla. Anyone who knew Jerry knew her love for art, bridge, gardening, reading, travel and of course dogs. She belonged to numerous bridge and book clubs and took art classes everywhere she lived – from Enid to Norman, Kansas City, Long Beach, St. Louis, Tyler, San Francisco and finally Houston for over 40 years. She married Paul in 1951 and they were married for 50 years. Jerry is survived by her children, Marsha Lutz, Kim Gindrat (Bob), David Lutz (Lynne) & Randy Lutz (Sheila) and 5 grandchildren, Holly, Jeff, Hannah, Addie & Ben. Celebration of Life Service will be held on Aug. 22, 2019 at 2 pm at Houston National Cemetery Chapel – 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038. Arrangements by Brookside Funeral Home – Champions. https://www.dignitymemorial.com/obituaries/houston-tx/jennie-lutz-8798775

Jerry was a dear friend for many years in our Olde Oaks book club. She made many good suggestions for books we should read as she was an avid reader being in not one, but two book clubs. Whenever we would meet in her home, we were amused by her dog, Bonnie, who liked to sniff our purses for perhaps an edible. After our meeting, we would admire the paintings on her walls and her family photographs. She never "tooted her own horn," but gradually we learned about her art career and her many other interests up to present time. Although she lived for short periods of time in retirement homes, she loved her own home the most. We will truly miss a good friend and a fine lady.

Whenever I would go to an AAUW meeting and saw Jenny, I always tried to sit next to her since she was so fun.
