Jerry Lee Irving, 71, of Fort Wayne, IN, passed April 1, 2024, at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX. Jerry was born to James and Margaret Irving, April 21, 1952, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He graduated from R. Nelson Snyder High School in 1970 and received an associate degree from Lakeland College in 1972. He married Marla (Bienz) Irving in 1982, and they lived together in Fort Wayne, IN and Puerto Vallarta, MX. He retired in 2022 and they lived out his remaining years in Las Vegas, NV and Puerto Vallarta, MX. Together they raised 2 children.
Jerry is survived by: Marla Irving (Spouse), Ashley Irving (daughter). He also leaves to cherish his brother Tom (Linda) Irving, sister in-law Lynn (Doug) Knauer, nieces and nephew Brett (Maria) Irving, Amy (Ken) Hunt, and Nichole Knauer.
He was preceded in death by Ryan Irving (son), James Irving (father), Margaret Irving (mother) and Blane Irving (nephew).
Jerry worked from early childhood to retirement at Irving Gravel Company. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, Mexico, friends, and laughter. He was also actively involved in many different organizations throughout his career. Some accolades are past President of Indiana Mineral Aggregates Association, proud Shiner (ROJ -2010; South Gate Lodge – 2010; Scottish Rite 2010), and the Directors Business Development Group.
A celebration of life will be announced in weeks to come in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The Honorable Holly A. Brady will be officiating.
The family requests that donations be made to Mispah Shrine Transportation Fund at 1015 Memorial Way Fort Wayne, IN 46805. The funds will be used for the transportation of children and parents to Chicago Shriners Hospitals for Children.
