Jerry was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Bobbie Stewart for 57 years, a loving father to his children, Brian Stewart and Julie Mitchell, and a proud grandfather to five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He found joy in life’s simple pleasures fishing with his son, Friday morning breakfasts with friends, and spending meaningful time with his family. Jerry served our country honorably for 3 years. As a faithful servant of the Lord, Jerry served for many years as the head usher of his church and took great pride in maintaining the church grounds always serving with humility and never expecting anything in return.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Bobbie Stewart; his children, Brian Stewart and Julie (Brad) Mitchell; and his grandchildren: Ashton (Trey) Leviege, Amelia (Marcello) Carvajal, Haleigh Mitchell, Mason Mitchell, and Marleigh Mitchell. He is also survived by his great-grandchild, Blaire Carvajal, and his siblings, Alberta Giles and David Stewart, Allen Stewart, Lisa White, Karen Burnap, Bobby Stewart, Kim Stewart, and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mildred Douglass and Harrison Stewart.
Jerry’s life was a beautiful testimony of faithfulness, perseverance, and a servant’s heart. He ran the race with unwavering devotion to God, and we rejoice in knowing he has received his heavenly reward.
