Jerry worked with me in the first game that I umpired a couple years ago. He was always so easy to work with and pleasant to be around at the ball park. I considered him a friend, a good umpire and an even greater person. I'll miss him.

We always think we have time to get together .. after we raise our kids and settle in for retirement! But, Jerry, we now have a broken link to our childhood.. with the loss of you! You were an angel to your Mom and a great brother to Geary and Renee. Losing you now is such a painful loss to your family and friends, but only with the consolation of knowing you are in heaven with your Dad and Mom makes it bearable for us on earth!

A long time ago you gave my Mom an autographed picture of you and said you would be famous one day... Jerry, you will ALWAYS be famous to our family... Love You LOTS !

I remember we were out checking the cattle with Grandpa when Jerry and Geary starting hollering Yee Haw. Next thing I knew 100 head of cattle were bolting in every direction; Grandpa just laughed and said; "well, we are going to have to round'em up now." That was over 40 years ago and I rember it like yesterday.
Jerry, now you are with your mom, dad, and Grandma and Grandpa Holbrook. Someday we will all get to join you in that Great round up in the sky.

Jerry "Wild Child" Welch.... We worked many years together at Consolidated Freightways and shared some great times at the job and off the job. After I retired I was totally surprised to see you come out to Spring Klein and umpire with us.It was so cool to be working with you again. You are going to be missed by me forever. Rest in Peace My Brother.....

I had the pleasure to umpire with this great man. He was a great role model on and off the field. God bless the Welch family through this tough time.

I only knew him for a short time while he umpired at Spring-Klein, but he was very sweet and we thoroughly enjoyed working with him. He umpired several games with my son and they worked well together. I can relate to loss this time of year and I'm sincerely sorry you're having to go through this. God bless and keep you in your time of need.
