

Jesse Pulido San Miguel, Sr. of Houston, Texas, passed away on June 18, 2026, at the age of 76, surrounded by loved ones at his son’s home. He was born on October 27, 1949 in Sinton, Texas to Guadalupe and Alejandro San Miguel.
Jesse was a Union brother of the International Longshoremen’s Association, Local 28, since 1969. He worked off and on until 1977, when he became a steady employee and continued working until his retirement in 2020. As a second-generation longshoreman, he was proud to see his sons, grandsons, and even one of his granddaughters join him on the waterfront over the years. He performed multiple jobs throughout his career, with his last position being a truck driver.
Jesse and his wife attended Immaculate Conception Church on Harrisburg. After retirement, he enjoyed spending time at home. He had a love for boxing and football and often enjoyed watching both.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alexander Sr. and Guadalupe San Miguel; brothers, Alexander Jr. and Salvador San Miguel; daughter, Sandy; grandson, Joshua Castillo; and great-granddaughter, Melissa.
Jesse is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Alma; children, Valentina (Robert) Luna, Jesse Jr. (Jennifer), Randy (Jennifer), Alexander (Cecillia), Gabrielle, and Dalilah Olidge; siblings, Ludivina (Robert) Moreno, Leonora, Thomas (Audrey), Oscar (Aileen), Rene (Gloria), and George (Gloria) San Miguel; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, friends, and Union brothers and sisters.
