Jessie Hernandez

Jessie Hernandez was born in Piedras Negras, Mexico, October 14, 1921, to parents Jose Garcia and Emilia Yanez. She passed away in Houston, TX, Wednesday June 8, 2016 at the age of 94. She is preceded in death by Jacob Hernandez, her loving husband to whom she was married for 51 years. She leaves behind a legacy of 5 children named Eloise Rossi, Henrietta Jasso (with husband Louis), Henry Vernon Hernandez (with wife Grace), Emily Lopez (with husband George), and Rosalie Camacho (with husband Mario). Her surviving siblings include Sergio Garcia, Richard Garcia, Elia Medrano, Adela Riojas and husband Emilio, Henry Garcia, and Socorro Garcia. She had received 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and will leave behind countless other family members and friends. One friend in particular, to whom she was very grateful, is Gloria Martinez, who had taken wonderful care of her in her final months. Jessie really cherished her family and was an excellent homemaker during her life. She will be missed for the delicious meals that she made, the beautiful gardens that she tended to, and more.

Visitation hours will begin Friday June 10, 2016 at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home from 5:00pm to 9:00pm with a Rosary at 7:00pm and a service will be held on Saturday June 11, 2016 10:00am at Forest Park Lawndale.
