

Jesus was born to Antonio Gutierrez and Maria Gutierrez, July 26, 1930, in La Paloma, Texas. He was raised on his family farm in General Teran, Nuevo Leon, Mexico until around the age of 12 at which time he made his way back to the United States with relatives in south Texas, ultimately making his way to Corpus Christi Texas where he met his wife Socorro Mandes. Together they raised 7 children.
He is survived by his children: Orlando Garza, Yolanda Gardner (John Gardner), Brenda Hamilton-Maier (Gary Maier), Lilianna Gutierrez, Miguel Gutierrez (Vicki Gutierrez), Jesus (Jesse) Gutierrez (Kimberly Gutierrez). He also leaves to cherish his memory grandchildren Anthony Gardner, Brandon Hamilton (Ashlee Hamilton), Alexander Gutierrez, Andrew Gutierrez, Katelyn Gutierrez, Nicholas Gutierrez, Sydnee Teel (Gary Teel), Paige Arbing (Daryl Arbing). Great Grandchildren AJ Gardner, Bella Gardner, Brooklyn Hamilton, London Hamilton, Colt Arbing, and Paislee Teel.
He was preceded in death by Antonio Gutierrez, (son), Humberto Gutierrez, (Brother), and Lilia Gutierrez, (Sister).
Jesus worked as a Chef for many hotels, private clubs, and restaurants for over 40 years. He enjoyed for many years, long walks at Crenshaw Park Pasadena TX. So much so that he was well known at the park. In his final year he was very well known at his independent living community for his long walks. Everyone who knew him were well aware of his philosophy of how to live a long life, (wake up early in the morning, take a cold shower, and stay active.)
He was life long active member of St. Francis Cabrini Catholic church.
A Rosary and Catholic Funeral Service is scheduled for July 8th, at Forest Park Lawndale main chapel. Public viewing 1:00pm, Rosary 1:30pm, service 2:00pm, and burial 3:00pm. A celebration of Life will follow at home of Jesse and Kimberly Gutierrez, 305 Blue Water Way, Kemah, TX 77565. Deacon Rob Stevens will officiate the ceremony.
