Jesús J. Ornelas was born on August 8, 1945, in Monterrey, Nuevo León, to Magdalena Castañeda and Jesús José Ornelas. On December 31, 1970, he married the love of his life, Teresa L. Ornelas. Together, they shared 55 beautiful years of marriage marked by devotion, laughter, and unwavering love. In 1974, they made Houston, Texas, their home, where they built a life centered on faith, family, and hard work.
Jesús is survived by his beloved wife, Teresa; his children, Jesús G. Ornelas (Esmeralda), Eduardo Ornelas (Elizabeth), and Rene Ornelas; eight cherished grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and six siblings. He passed away peacefully in Beaumont, Texas, on January 5, 2026, at the age of 80.
Jesús was a hardworking and dedicated man. He spent many years in the radiator industry before founding Jesse’s Radiator in 1994. He proudly operated the business until his retirement in 2001, leaving behind a reputation for integrity, craftsmanship, and perseverance. He had a lifelong passion for cars and music, especially the songs of Vicente Fernández.
Above all, Jesús was a man of faith. He was baptized at Hibbard Memorial Baptist Church in Houston and lived his life guided by Christian values, holding John 3:16 close to his heart.
His love for Teresa was constant and evident in the simplest moments—often sitting quietly beside her as she watched her favorite shows, content simply to be near her. Their bond was a beautiful example of companionship, loyalty, and enduring love.
Jesús will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his sense of humor, and his deep devotion to his family. Affectionately known as “Honey” by his grandchildren, he leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and dedication that will continue to live on through all who were blessed to know him. He was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and cherished brother whose memory will forever be treasured.
