Jimmie retired after 52 years from the Woman’s Institute in Houston, Texas. Jimmie is preceded in death by her husband, James Lyons; parents, Elishia Williams and Zella Mae Williams. She was the mother of eleven children: Zellestine Lyons, Shirley White (Charles), Patricia Lyons (deceased), Rena Lyons, James Lyons, Jr. (Yvonne), Michael Lyons, Paul Lyons (deceased), Jeffery Lyons, Gregory Lyons, Lisa Lyons and Cornell Lyons. Jimmie had ten siblings, five are left to cherish her memory: Murleen Mims, Sarah Jean Williams, Arthur B. Williams, Robert C. Williams, Virginia F. Durham. She is preceded in death by five: Lueretha Hamlett, Willie Boyd, Jeff Williams, Arthur Lee Williams, and Geraldine Barrett. Jimmie is also preceded in death by one granddaughter, Donna Bradford and a grandson, Rodney Lyons. She leaves nineteen grandchildren, thirty-one great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
