He was born on July 22, 1951 in Houston, where he lived most of his life. Jimmy graduated from Sam Houston High School in 1969 and immediately joined the U.S. Marine Corp where he served honorably for three years. Jimmy was a skilled construction worker in the flooring industry and used his skills both professionally and to help family and friends. He was a proud member of the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades. Jimmy was a friend to all, happy go lucky, very thoughtful and caring; he was by his parents’ sides every day during their later years. One of his favorite hobbies was watching and placing small bets on the horse races at Sam Houston Race Park. He was happy to share his knowledge on this topic to anyone who asked. Jimmy was a dependable, proud and devoted father and grandfather. He was a strong man who faced life’s challenges with stoic courage.
He was preceded in death by his parents Jim and Millie Maresh, nephew Tony Maresh, and brother-in-law Danny Haley. He is survived by his daughter Tiffany Maresh O’Rourke, son-in-law, Tim O’Rourke, and grandson Christopher O’Rourke of Santa Monica, CA; younger brother Mike Maresh and his wife Donna Maresh of Houston, TX; older brother Frankie Maresh and his wife Virginia of Houston, TX; his sister Genevieve Maresh Haley, nieces, nephews and other extended family members. All are saddened by his death and mourn his loss, but celebrate his life and memory.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 2, 2022 at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home beginning at 12:00PM. A reception will follow the service at 1:00PM
